Verdict

This has the makings of a very informative contest though chasing newcomer Cootamundra has plenty on his plate and will do well to get involved. The other debutant over the bigger obstacles, Il Fenomeno, has plenty going for him as befits a five-times Flat and dual hurdles winner and he's definitely one to keep an eye on. Aughnacurraveel, a winning point-to-pointer and hurdler, didn't run badly on his chasing bow behind Pride Of The Artic at Tipperary and should step up on that though he'll need to if he's to trouble TWINLIGHT and Argocat. The former, a winner over hurdles in France, fell on his chasing bow last November and reappeared with a promising run over hurdles here last month. He probably didn't have much to do to gain his first success over fences at Listowel but looked a cracking prospect and can see off the challenge of the four-year-old Argocat, who cruised to victory on only his second start over fences at Limerick and has all the allowances.
