Verdict

Saltonstall scored over a mile here on Tuesday with several of these behind but QUIZICAL came with a powerful late burst and might have won in another 100yds and, though this shorter trip makes it more difficult, he can reverse the form if getting going a bit earlier. Rufus King finished fourth and was always in the firing-line while Marshall Jennings was in the lead at this trip before fading. Magnetic North didn't get much of a run but Baraweez was well beaten and Turnberry Isle was nowhere near his best and finished last. David Barron wouldn't be a regular visitor here so the presence of Above The Rest is intriguing as he won a Listed contest at Wolverhampton in March. This isn't a good race for three-year-olds but Mick Channon's Certain Lad beat the prolific Ginger Jam at Haydock
