In depth

Verdict

FLEUR DE VASSY is unpenalised for a course and distance win here earlier in month and should take all the beating; Mr Floppy, Sophisticated Lady and Colonial Jim look like providing the stiffest opposition. With another entry at Ludlow on Thursday, this could be a profitable spell for a well-handicapped horse. He appreciated the step up in trip when winning here last week and with similar conditions today he should be hard to beat. Colonial Jim was in second on that occasion but he has eight lengths to find and is hard to fancy on the same terms. Sophisticated Lady was well-fancied at Huntingdon last time out and Neil King's mare seems to get on well with Gina Andrews, Mr Floppy disappointed at Leicester last time and now reverts to hurdles, whilst English Jim reverts to the cheek-pieces and looks well-handicapped if back to form. My Matilda needs a market check having been pulled up three times over fences, whilst Walkingonsunshine is able to race off his real mark today and is considered accordingly. This should be straightforward for Fleur De Vassy to confirm recent form with Colonial Jim.
