Verdict

SUGAR HICCUP was backed as though defeat was out of the question at Newton Abbot last week and duly obliged with the minimum of fuss. She was obviously suited by the faster ground and, given similar conditions here, should follow up under a penalty. Hawk Gold has proved consistent this year and has solid place claims again but the jury is out on course and distance winner Osmosia at present and Flashy Star and Al Amaan look beatable off their current marks.
