Verdict

A difficult way to end the card but Capriolo is a useful performer on his day and he is just preferred to Rescindo, Homer and Momentous Jones today. The Pat Murphy-trained gelding acted well on the course when he was last seen out and will have been freshened up by a short break since then. He is probably at his best when he is fresh and his ability to quicken at the end of his races gives him the edge in this company. Rescindo has run well in the face of some stiff tests of last and looks set to give another good account of himself. However, it remains to be seen how well he will act on this idiosyncratic course.
