Verdict

Quite an interesting novices' hurdle that should chiefly concern three of them in Shore Thing, Bremen and LYRICAL ASSASSIN, and we'll take the latter to score. Lyrical Assassin will relish these conditions and won a 2m 4f maiden hurdle on firm going at Bellewstown in June. This will be his first start for Charlie Longsdon and if his handicap mark is correct then he has a few pounds in hand here, so we'll take him to score. Shore Thing carries a double penalty for wins at Uttoxeter and, more recently, Market Rasen. The latter was a very easy win, but this is another race and an extra 7lbs on his back will make this much tougher. Bremen has been around the block a few times for Philip Hobbs, having run 18 times already at the age of five. He is generally a very consistent performer, though he would be better if there was cut in the ground, so we'll take him on. Isntshelovely is not beyond improvement, while Rocky Ryan is an interesting newcomer brought over from Ireland and now in the care of Jim Best, so look for him to go up a notch or two, but for today we'll side with Lyrical Assassin.
