In depth

Verdict

A competitive handicap chase with Tudor King, Alfred The Grey both with chances but the selection is Maidstone Monument. Alison Thorpes charge has the services of Tony McCoy for the very first time and with the mare coming back to like her former self when finishing a short head second at Sedgefield last time out she is taken to bounce back and score here. Alfred The Grey will be the main danger after finishing second on his last two runs and it wont be long before he enters the winners enclosure but may have to settle for second best again here. Tudor King has been nothing but consistent of late rarely finishing out of the prize money and for that reason the handicapper does not forgive him so carries top weight today. He will run his race but place money may be the order of the day for him yet again. So for the winner we return to Maidstone Monument.
