Paul Nicholls makes a determined bid to land this Grade 2 with three runners. Prospect Wells was well beaten in the Long Walk at Ascot last time but had pushed stablemate Zarkander all the way to the line in the Elite Hurdle earlier. Brampour is another regular at this level though he's been unable to cope with the top-class Oscar Whisky recently. The suspicion remains that both of the above need faster ground and on that basis DARK LOVER is preferred. He ran well enough behind My Tent Or Yours at Newbury last time and scored nicely in heavy ground at Cheltenham before that. Meister Eckhart and Bergo will need their very best to figure on their return to action and even that may not be good enough while Valmari is outclassed.
