In depth

Verdict

Kentmere, Flotta and Resplendent Star are three against the field in this competitive opener and there vote is given to Kentmere. The selection was a good second behind Imperial Rocket last time out, that form sets the standard in the context of this race and he need only run up to that mark to score. Resplendent Star rates the main danger on his latent fourth behind Figaro Du Rocher. He looks well in on his best chasing form and he will not be far away. Flotta is another that could go well he was a fair sort on the flat and will just have to put in a fluent round of jumping to score. Of the remainder Ring of Destiny is another that had ability on the flat but he is far from certain to see out the trip and for the winner we return to Kentmere who sets a fair standard in the context of this race and under conditions that suit he will be hard to beat.
