In depth

Verdict

Waynesworld reverts to hurdling after a spell chasing and has to be respected but would not appear to be particularly well treated and preference is for Coustou, who gets the vote ahead of Great Compton. The selection is entitled to strip fitter for his recent outings on the flat and over hurdles at Plumpton last month when a creditable second behind Saucy Night. A reproduction of that effort may suffice. Coppermalt may want a faster surface, while Justino is less exposed than most of these and could be of interest representing the in-form stable of Jonathan Geake. Great Compton was well held on his return at Worcester at the beginning of the month but should come on for the run. However, Coustou has an obvious chance and gets the vote.
