The betting suggested HERON CREEK was expected to improve for a combination of wind surgery, a step up in distance and making his handicap debut and the Newland charge duly won by four lengths at Chepstow. He’s due to raised by more than today’s penalty and is preferred to Age Of Wisdom. The latter improved to finish second over track and trip in first-time blinkers and the headgear remains in place while Soarlikeaneagle won this last year and is now back on the same mark. Rubys Reward may prove best of the rest.
