In depth

Verdict

DEVIL TO PLAY concedes weight all round but this formerly useful Flat handicapper looks more than up to the task, despite not having been seen since landing a competitive Cheltenham handicap in November. His best form, Flat and jumps, has arrived on good ground and he's clearly been saved for these spring conditions. Open to improvement, this lightly-raced four-year-old can see of Watergate and De Welsh Wizzard, both of whom did the job nicely last time and should progress again. The latter scored especially sweetly at Plumpton and rates the main danger. Wester Ross has place claims.
