In depth

Verdict

Kilty Storm has obvious claims and gets a confident vote over Kandjar d'Allier, My Vic and Lyes Green. Although shouldered with a penalty here, it really is hard to escape the claims of Kilty Green who has won two of his last three starts. He beat The Gangerman well enough on his handicap bow at Newbury, but suffered a reversal when failing to make the most of no penalty at Ludlow next time. He raced too keenly that day though and settled much better when annihilating Keepers Mead at Chepstow, with Andrew Glassonbury once again in the plate. Back amongst the novices here, he will take all the beating. Kandjar d'Allier has not looked right since being pulled up behind Trabolgan in the Hennessy last November, and maybe a spin or two over hurdles is what he needs to rekindle his confidence. He is best watched though, and a bigger threat if there is one could well be My Vic. David Gandolfo's charge has shown promise between the flags and is less exposed than the year younger Lyes Green who was pulled up at Towcester last time. The latter caught a real tartare in Denman at Wincanton last October and proved that was no fluke when going one better at Market Rasen. If right, he can reach the frame, but will do well to stop Kilty Storm from obliging again.
