      Verdict

A competitive start to proceedings with some useful turf performers taking on race-fit rivals who have been kept busy on the all-weather. The Best yet falls in to the latter category and will have a major say if able to translate his excellent all-weather form back on turf while Chorus is another to consider after a string of consistent efforts on the sand. Jazzy Millennium won three of his last five starts last season but returns on a stiff mark as a consequence so the vote goes to Berkeley Hall who ended last term in excellent form and looks fairly treated for his seasonal reappearance.
