In depth

Verdict

An open looking race in which narrow preference is for R' Cam ahead of Pocket Aces and Botaldor. Plenty of guess-work involved here with several returning from long lay-off's but R' Cam shaped with plenty of promise on his first bumper run last season and with the ground to suit, he should go well, although it must be noted that his future will lie over fences. Botaldor represents a stable in great form and should not be easily overlooked, whilst Ballygalley Rob is expected to do better this season after a couple of lacklustre hurdles efforts last season. Pocket Aces is a big danger; fit from a recent outing, there was enough promise there to suggest that he is a major player, although quicker ground may have been preferable. An open race, and narrow preference is for R' Cam.
