In depth

Verdict

Go On Green and Danger Alley are interesting newcomers but it may pay to side with experience and the vote goes to Caldra, who is preferred to Buddies Girl. The selection ran a race full of promise on a soft surface on his debut at Goodwood last month and should be equally as effective on today's faster ground. Hythe Bay has had the benefit of two starts but probably needs to improve to trouble the selection, while Go On Green is not certain to go on ground as fast as this judged by his pedigree. A market move for Danger Alley would be of interest although more solid claims are held by Buddies Girl, who lost no caste in defeat behind Bicoastal at Newmarket on his debut. That may be the best form on offer but Richard Hannon's filly may not represent much in the way of value and is not as likely to handle today's faster ground than Caldra, who gets the vote.
