In depth

Verdict

With past course form to his credit, Our Jolly Swagman is the pick ahead of Sett Aside and Wondersbright in what is a moderate contest. In truth none of these line up in good form, but on past efforts the finger points to Our Jolly Swagman who was successful off a mark of 116 at Lingfield in 2003, beating the useful Tremallt in the process. The Seamus Mullins inmate is a shadow of his former self these days, but off a rating of 80 is very well treated indeed, and although his last win at Newton Abbot came on fast ground, he does handle these conditions. With his pilot able to claim seven-pounds as well, he appears even more well weighted. Sett Aside looks the best of Linda Jewell's pair, and on the basis of his latest second to The Outlier here, he should be involved as well, although this drop back in trip is a worry. Wondersbright has to give weight away all round, while Sunshan is an in-and-out performer these days, and all in all Our Jolly Swagman makes most appeal.
