In depth

Verdict

Black Dave is still in good nick and should again beat Twenty One Choice. Dandys Perier wasn't beaten far here last week behind Clary, who runs in the previous race, while Beverley third Uncle Dermot and Brighton specialist Port Lairge should be thereabouts again. But CRICKLEWOOD GREEN (NAP) took advantage of a lenient mark to win at Salisbury a week ago and, as that was an apprentice race, he escapes a penalty here. Sylvester Kirk's four-year-old can record a quick follow-up, though Poyle Jessica went very close to adding to her Chepstow gains here next time and rates a big threat.
