In depth

Verdict

Charming Lad had little to beat last week at Plumpton and looks worth opposing under a penalty. Chasers Chance was flattered by his proximity to the winner at Newton Abbot and Wayward Frolic has been well beaten in recent starts. But Mac Le Couteau is a consistent sort who should be in the mix again and The Last Bridge is a dour stayer who will be running on when others have cried enough. EXPANDING UNIVERSE (NAP) has only had the three runs over fences so probably has more scope than his rivals. He won over 3m here in February before running well over hurdles at Sedgefield and gets the nod ahead of Irish import West Of The Edge.
