In depth

Verdict

MASTER CHARM sets the standard and he can see off Putney Bridge and Ace High Blue. A winning hunter chaser, he was a little scrappy at Southwell when successful last week but the former Carl Llewellyn inmate is in the right hands to progress and he will not be troubled by stepping up in trip. Putney Bridge won a novice hurdle at Chepstow in decent style. If raced prominently, he is always a factor but his record over chase fences has not been the greatest. Ace High Blue is relatively unexposed though should be fit following two runs after a sizeable absence. Sea Cliff has been a disappointment of late though it would be folly to discount anything Tony McCoy is sat aboard. Michigan Assassin was beaten in plating company over hurdles and this switch to fences seems to smack a little of desperation. Master Charm has the winning habit and that is a good one to have,
