Verdict

Gordon Elliott has won the last two of these and AUTHORIZO, a winner on the Flat in France, made such an impressive debut over the track and trip last month that he can continue the sequence. He faces much stronger opposition here including another course and distance winner in Way Back Home, who has steadily improved and won comfortably last week. He had earlier finished 3l behind Lever Du Soleil at Gowran but the latter doesn't appear to have made the same progress. Farid, a winning bumper in France, made a promising start over this track and trip in December but probably found the ground too quick at Punchestown next time and could do with some rain. Our Legend has done nothing wrong but is another who could benefit from some give in the ground.
