COCHISE gets the vote in this competitive race with An Tarbh Donn and For A Song rated strong contenders for first prize as well. Our selection won nicely last time and faces a 7lb rise in the weights in what is probably a tougher race, but he's progressing nicely and may have enough in the locker to cope with the penalty. He's a horse who relishes a stamina test and on this ground he's going to get it, so with a promising claimer booked the gelding gets our vote. An Tarbh Donn might just about start favourite representing Arthur Moore. He looks a horse set to stay three miles and further but with the ground cutting up his stamina will come in handy and this son of Oscar remains a horse of some potential at this sort of level. For A Song is seriously well treated on his chase rating so don't rule out a big performance from him, but the concern is he's arguably a better horse over slightly shorter trips and for that reason he's opposed along with Ball Of Blue who represents a strong yard but hasn't shown himself to be quite the natural over hurdles having promised plenty in bumpers. Tulachsarain has been in good for in points and doesn't look too harshly treated for his return to rules but Cochise brings a progressive profile to this contest and is selected accordingly.
