LORD LARIAT (NAP) has a tremendous record over fences here highlighted by his Irish National victory in April. He will have needed his run in a Punchestown Grade 3 in October and will be a different proposition here. Fairyhill Run led to the last in this a year ago and also in the Midlands National at Kilbeggan in July. His rider's claim is a major plus though he wouldn't want more rain and The Dabbler, runner-up in this a year ago, looks to have been primed to go one better. Punitive was narrowly beaten at Galway and Cheltenham before an early Navan fall, a race in which Regina Dracones, a winner here in February, also fell. Everglow looked as though a longer trip was required when unplaced in the Galway Blazers over 2m6f.
