New Vennture was entitled to need her run at Taunton last month and much better is expected here with Noel Fehily taking over the reins. Martha Mccandles was placed at Huntingdon and Lingfield before disappointing in a maiden at Southwell but she doesn’t appear blessed with much in the way of pace. HEAVEN SCENT is a rare runner here for Donald McCain and she can make the long journey worthwhile. Her Market Rasen victory came back in July on better ground but she was more like her old self at Catterick on New Year’s Day and is getting 15lb here from the in-form Bobble Boru, not counting various allowances.
