Verdict

Regain Du Charbonneau will win at some point this year but he is hard to trust and a safer option looks to be SHINNECOCK BAY with AP McCoy booked; Boomtown may be the best of the rest. Oliver Sherwood's gelding ran well in defeat at Exeter last time and although he is still a maiden that may all change with the champion jockey likely to firmly encourage a bold run. Wricksons Bridge is quickly turned out after a fair Plumpton effort, Regain Du Charbonneau tries a different combination of headgear, whilst The Fox's Decree needs to improve for the drop in trip and application of a tongue tie. Boomtown put in his best effort at Hereford behind the well-ridden (and well handicapped) Skye But N Ben and looks a big player, Knockvicar could feature in a race of this weakness, whilst Nomad won well here last time out and he escapes a penalty for that success; he is an obvious danger. The market may help in a tricky opener but we are happy to side with Shinnecock Bay.
