Verdict

BELMOUNT has taken well to fences and could find the necessary improvement to concede weight to more experienced handicappers. He won at Ludlow in May and was just denied by a back-to-form Dursey Sound on only his second start over the larger obstacles at Warwick in September. Dursey Sound's trainer runs Foundation Man in this and he looked to be on the way back at Wetherby, though this trip raises stamina issues. Whats Left won over course and distance last month and is another with plenty of scope while Midnight Lira only found one too good over a trip too short at Fontwell. Sun Wild Life is only a five-year-old and will be winning again soon along with stablemate Umberto D'olivate. Russe Blanc and Ziga Boy might be the pick of the remainder, though Quite By Chance is still at the right end of the handicap.
