Black Sam Bellamy has taken time to show his true ability but, judged by his last time out success at the Curragh, is the one they all have to beat with Godolphin's Highest and Mark Johnston's pair, Bandari and Zindabad, looking the main dangers. The selection is a full-brother to Derby winner Galileo so should have no problem with the trip or ground and, now that he is beginning to live up to his illustrious breeding, is taken to win his second successive Group 1 contest. Bandari boiled over in the preliminaries before the Derby last year and is prone to doing so again so Zindabad, who did not have conditions to suit in this race 12 months ago, may have more solid claims of the two Johnston horses. Highest is strictly held by Warrsan in Newmarket's Jockey Club Stakes a month ago but is entitled to improve, while Ulundi, who disappointed in the Brigadeer Gerard, is capable of better than he showed at Sandown. Albanova, a full-sister to Champion Stakes winner Alborada, is open to further improvement but may be better over slightly shorter.
