Verdict

In a tricky handicap we will side with Nero's Return ahead of Momtic, Psychiatrist and Ridge Boy. The selection comes into this race on the back of a good second at Goodwood on May 28. He is du to go up a pound in future ratings, has shown he can handle a switchback track and has fared well with the draw, so has plenty of ticks in the right boxes. Momtic ran even more recently when second to Norton at Sandown on Monday - and, clearly in good heart, can go well again, particularly if ridden closer to the pace. Today's race is not as tough as the Listed race that Psychiatrist ran in at Goodwood last time. He had plenty of use made of him that day but it was still a fair effort and he is respected today. With Fine Silver having failed so far to build on his Newbury win, and the likes of Uhoomagoo having paid for a successful summer last year, then maybe Jazz Scene, who is well-weighted based on his form of last summer, might run well at a big price. However, for the winner, we return to Nero's Return.
