Verdict

Tony The Gent is top-rated but has run nine times around here without winning. MOONMEISTER has won five times here and will have found a mile too short in a similar race a month ago. He'd prefer an extra couple of furlongs but a career record of 10-54 suggests he should be good enough for this. Saga Bolton has won twice here though that was in the winter of 2015/16 and he was well beaten over hurdles last week. Lady De Vesci won a similar race over the course and distance in November, when she had Secret Wizard around 2 lengths back in third, but has struggled from her new mark in handicaps. The latter has been running a bit better than his form figures suggest in handicaps but Sayesse has never raced over a trip this far.
