In depth

Verdict

Horsewithnoname is very inconsistent but showed that he had ability with an 8l success last week for which he's been raised to his highest ever mark. General Bunching is much better off with the latter but has plenty of ground to make up. Fairy Court scored by the same margin a fortnight ago, his first victory on the Flat, but has been hit with a 12lb rise, so HABESH makes more appeal. Third over a shorter trip here last time, he was partnered by Joseph O'Brien when scoring over track and trip earlier and can return to winning ways with the latter back on board. The handicapper has finally taken pity on Cottesloe dropping him 3lb after a string of good efforts at this track without actually getting his head in front.
