Coach Bombay came up against a useful performer when runner-up to Parramatta over the C&D two weeks ago and should go well though there is very little between himself and Fairylike on that run. Dusty Trail has had nine attempts to get off the mark on Polytrack and he's better on testing going on Turf while Shabra Emperor has only had one less run on the surface and is still a maiden after a career total of 27 starts. Roja Dove probably needs a stiffer test of stamina so a chance is taken on ALGHANEM. He ran poorly when strongly fancied at Tipperary last time but didn't enjoy the conditions and his two previous runs on today's surface have produced placed efforts so he looks well enough handicapped to get off the mark.
