In depth

Verdict

RUBY GATES is by no means one of her stable's blue-bloods and was a 12/1 chance on her debut over 7f here last month. She completely missed the break but was staying on so strongly in the closing stages that she would have won over this trip so looks the one to be on. Verus Cass, who finished just in front of her having held every chance, should also have come on for the experience. Murmuration's close third at Cork in October would put her in the picture but Palavicini Run's best effort was over 6f on her final start in September. Va Pensiero is out of a mare who has produced winners with her first two foals and along with Keukenhof, who cost 87,000 euros, is a newcomer to note.
