Verdict

Chestnut Fire was only just touched off by the in-form Red Avenger in a strong handicap a fortnight ago when Have A Nice Day, who had every chance, was behind. Shepherd's Purse, a bit unlucky to be caught by Geological over 6f last time, is well handicapped these days though has never won on the all-weather while fifth-placed Russian Soul is likely to find this too far. Togoville, who finished further behind, had little chance from the draw and is better judged on his excellent previous run. THE MOUSE DOCTOR also finished behind Red Avenger last time and though behind Chestnut Fire earlier has the weights in his favour this time and looks the one to be on. Hat Alnasar has a fine record here and is gradually slipping back to a winnable mark. He's very closely matched with Northern Surprise in two runs here last winter and the latter would have needed his comeback in October. Ishebayorgrey went up 6lb for his victory in November and couldn't cope on his next start.
