In depth

Verdict

A LIKELY STORY made a very encouraging debut on this track in September but subsequently has only raced on ground with plenty of give. He hasn't done much wrong and showed he had the pace for this when beaten just a head over the minimum on heavy going at Tipperary last week. Aspar would have been expected to have won by now after a very promising debut at the Curragh in June. He hasn't been beaten far in decent maidens and if ready after a break would be an obvious threat. The remainder of the three-year-olds look to have it all to do so it's the former Richard Hannon-trained Miracle Ninetynine who may provide a bigger threat. He's only raced at 7f and a mile so he must having been showing good pace at home to be dropping back to the minimum trip.
