Verdict

Eusepio has been getting closer to that elusive first success and was beaten narrowly by Toccata Blue over the track and trip last month. He looks certain to go close but Sylvan Mist, who was receiving 5lb in that latter race and is just 3lb better off, was 2l away in third and looks held. TOBERTON, whose form figures don't look particularly attractive, has shown some promise, staying on nicely over 6f when last seen here in November. He's just the type to improve this season and is handed the vote. Marvelous James wasn't beaten far in a claimer at Down Royal and started favourite for a nursery here in October but ran poorly while Mississippi John has only shown a glimmer of ability to date.
