In depth

Verdict

CAPTAIN JOY won one of these qualifiers at Lingfield last January before narrowly beaten into third in the final in April. He's better than these, though hasn't been seen since June so hopefully Tracey Collins' will have him ready. Bishan Bedi has race-fitness on his side and has been in excellent form, winning two decent handicaps in December. But he didn't run as well last time and will need to do better while Geological has been racing over the minimum trip and doesn't look good enough. Political Policy was receiving 9lb from Bishan Bedi when beaten over two lengths in December and though he won his next two starts they were over longer trips.
