    Verdict

DOUGAN is another of David Evans' raiding party and could prove the best of them. Although still a maiden on Turf, his recent runs when close up in Class 2 handicaps suggest that situation won't last long and a record of 5-8 on artificial surfaces points to his obvious chance here. The three-year-old Go Kart is reasonably consistent and won over the track and trip last December. She ran well at the Curragh last time and is well handicapped compared to her Turf rating. Vitello tackled 7f for the first time here a fortnight ago and was only caught in the closing stages. She's surprisingly been dropped 3lb so has to be on the shortlist. The veteran Russian Soul was behind in that latter event but is better over this trip and though Complicit's form figures don't offer much encouragement he won five times for Paul Cole on the all-weather and Jonny Levins will be finding a race for him soon.
