Verdict

After a neck defeat by The Liffey at the Curragh, MY MATE ALFIE started favourite on a return visit but found a couple too good in what looked a strong race. He can get off the mark even though Battle Cry is certain to come on for his debut at Navan in May where he was beaten a long way. Starliner is by Showcasing out of a mare who has produced two winners and looks best of the remainder.
