Verdict

Foreign Affairs was in great form last season winning the John Smith's Cup and finishing runner-up in the Ebor. He was then sent to run in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe where he ran a blinder for a long way and remains a colt of real potential. Sir Mark Prescott has taken his time with his string this season but like stablemate Danehurst, Foreign Affairs could well be set for an exciting season. He should be ready on his reappearance and will take all the beating. Johannian has a fitness advantage and comes here on the back of some good runs in big handicaps but he does have a bit to find with the favourite on the official ratings. Mr Sandancer is the worse off at the weights and after never really living up to a big reputation, the fitting of a first time visor would have to be a worry.
