In depth

Verdict

Clarinch Claymore does his best work in small fields and he can take this at the expense of Dr Sharp and Night Sight. Malcolm Jefferson's runner has foregone a number of engagements of late on account of the fast ground but this likeable stayer has conditions in his favour tonight and should go well. Dr Sharp is a thorough mudlark. He won on heavy going at Beverley and has a break after those exertions. There is the suspicion that this may be on the sharp side for him so we will reluctantly oppose. Night Sight is an interesting runner. Sue Lamyman knows how to train winning stayers but his best form is on faster going so the conditions will test him to full here. Glory Quest often travels well without finding too much when push comes to shove. Of the remainder Distant Cousin has no problems with the trip and at least makes some appeal. Clarinch Claymore is our selection in the penultimate race on our card.
