Verdict

Queens Night, Diablerette and Night Club are the three against the field in this tricky opener, and we take a chance on well bred debutant Diablerette to lead them home. Queens Night represents the Channon-Dettori combination and will be a popular choice, having finished a close second on her debut. She will go well here, but the quality of the form is suspect and she may not go off at a sensible price. Brian Smart¿s runners are flying at the moment, and it will pay to watch the market for any support for his debutant, Night Club. A daughter of Mozart, she is a half-sister to several winners, including the useful Danseuse Du Soir. The selection though is another debutant, Diablerette. She is trained by Mark Johnston, and is bred in the purple, being a daughter of Green Desert. She is a half-sister to the classy Gateman and can show off the family traits by making a winning debut here.
