        Verdict

        CREDENCE STAR led going into the final furlong over 7f here on last month’s debut. He faded into third but this shorter trip looks like the logical move and he gets the nod. Johnny Estella placed at Chelmsford in November while Elegant Ellen finished strongly in the soft going at Redcar last summer. Special Mayson was still well beaten when runner-up at Leicester but Pagan has undergone wind surgery since last year while Bannow has been gelded and better efforts from both would be no surprise.
