In depth

Verdict

Beau de Turgeon is given the nod here ahead of Brave Rebellion and Napoleon. The Ian Williams trained four-year-old showed very little in three outings last term and was allowed to go off at 100/1 on his seasonal return. However he ran ablinder to chase home the Martin Pipe trained Magnifico, with a decent bunch of hurdlers well behind. He should improve for that run and looks the best option today. Bumper winner Brave Rebellion showed improved form over hurdles last time when chasing home Bougoure at Catterick. Now he knows what is required he should run another good race. Napoleon is from a top yard and has shown plenty of promise in two races to date, he should be involved in the finish. It would be no surprise to see the once raced Field Spark show vast improvement as well, but Beau de Turgeon looks to have the strongest form on show and he gets the verdict.
