    Verdict

A wide open contest this, like the rest of the competitive card, but MOODY TUNES can land the spoils, and is selected ahead of Marvo and Smarty Socks. It's paid to follow Karl Burke's runners recently, and Moody Tunes was a good second in a Hamilton seller in a seasonal pipe-opener recently. Well drawn, he usually goes well at this time of year, and may attempt to control the race from the front. Most of his wins have come when there's been a little cut in the ground. Mark Tomkins has been showing a decent profit to level stakes recently too, and Marvo lived up to his name last time out winning at Pontefract. He'll appreciate it if the ground's a little slow. Smarty Socks may be held up for a run, and stepping up from seven furlongs to a mile is a positive, given the way he's been running on in some races. It's hard to discount any Richard Fahey runner at the moment, but Handsome Falcon ran at York on Friday, so may not be turned out again so quickly. Moody Tunes though can score for us and carries our support.
