Verdict

Eton Forever also had an entry in the Group 2 Park Stakes on today's card so the fact that Roger Varian has opted to run him in this instead is significant, though he may be a shade high in the weights judged on his latest fifth at Ascot. Sarrsar won well at Ascot last month and Dettori prefers him here to stablemate Man Of Action, despite a 7lb rise in the weights. Fareer appears to have lost his way, however, while Crown Counsel has two ways of running and has already had 14 starts this year. Casual Glimpse and Sooraah would go close if back on song, but Mia's Boy doesn't look the force of old whereas CRY FURY may still be on an upward curve. Roger Charlton's three-year-old had the proverbial ton in hand when scoring over 1m2f at Goodwood last time and is ahead of the handicapper on that evidence. The worry here is the drop in distance but there's unlikely to be any hanging about over this straight mile so William Buick's mount gets a confident vote.
