Verdict

The trio for the shortlist are VIRGINIA HALL, High Spice and Breathless Kiss and the vote is given to Virginia Hall. The selection won her maiden at Windsor in decent style last time when she comfortably beat Excellent Thought. She is clearly quite smart and although she has more on her plate here she should take the world of beating. High Spice was last seen in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Ascot when she finished down the field. While our selection need to progress to win this, High Spice has less on her plate but she has yet to prove herself at this level. Breathless Kiss is an interesting newcomer from the Kevin Ryan yard but she will have to be above average to win this on her racecourse debut. Similar comments would apply to the other newcomer Mosa Mine, and like Breathless Kiss the market could provide a decent guide to her chance. Virginia Hall looks quite useful and she gets the vote.
