Verdict

ARIZONA JOHN caught a tartar last time out in the form of Charlie Cool and he can gain compensation here at the main expense of Flowing Cape and Ninth House. John Mackie's charge has been a great claim for the yard and he still looks fairly handicapped here despite a 2lb rise for his Thirsk run last time out. The winner of that run has won since and with the ground to suit he can take top honours. Thunderball's run behind Jonny Lesters Hair looks solid, course winner Bold Cross bounced back to form at Haydock last month, whilst Flowing Cape is consistent but doesn't win as often as he should. Dream In Waiting represents a yard in good nick and should come on for her Sandown run, Lakeman and Film Festival given Brian Ellison a strong hand, whilst Spavento needs a second look with Eric Alston sending out even the stable cat to win at present. Ninth House was quite well-fancied at Beverley last time out and he ran a good race in second; that looks solid form for this level and there is no denying that he is a well-handicapped horse. An open handicap then where the nominal selection is Arizona John.
