Verdict

Alan King's French recruit AMERICAN LADIE reverts to novice company after just failing to catch Henry King in a Taunton handicap. She deserves a change of fortune and Charlie Huxley will ensure she gets a good ride. Nicky Henderson's newcomer to hurdling Dubai Crest will attract support despite his pedigree containing more sprinters than stayers but Solis looks to have more to do with a penalty for his recent C&D success. Kaolak is probably unfortunate not to have won a race but may have to settle for a place again, while Red Merlin was a major disappointment at Musselburgh last time after a poor round of jumping. Gary Moore's ex-Irish Swift Lord, a winning bumper at Downpatrick in 2009, was having his first start for a year when runner-up in a chase at Folkestone last month but showed some promise on his only start over timber last year.
