In depth

Verdict

SIDE GLANCE took a step forward last year and won his first Group race at Salisbury in August. Andrew Balding's charge is a few lengths ahead of today's opposition on official ratings and may not have to be at his best on his return to land this. 2010 Lincoln winner Penitent needed a conditions race in soft ground at Hamilton to get his head in front last year and Questioning showed better progress, ending the year with a third to Bubble Chic in a Group 3 at Newmarket. St Moritz had a couple of races at Meydan in January but has plenty to find with the selection on last year's form at Ascot, while the remainder will do well to get involved on today's terms.
