In depth

Verdict

Three-year-olds have a decent record in this so Giga White, who was having his first run since beating South Pacific at Gowran in August when narrowly beaten by Ferretti at Naas last month, is likely to make a bold bid to go one better. Another from the younger brigade, Baladiya, is progressing nicely and looks on a fair mark for her handicap debut while Beckwith Place beat Crafty Madam at Leopardstown and the runner-up runs earlier. Ahlan Bil Zain was winning for the third time in five starts in a strong handicap at Gowran though a 6lb rise makes this much tougher and the one to take from the race is ICE COLD IN ALEX. Ken Condon's charge improved throughout last summer and was having his first start since scoring at Leopardstown in August when not getting the run of the race in that Gowran handicap. Tintoretto returned to winning ways at Limerick but has more to do in this tougher event.
